treatments for pregnancy, babies and children

Craniosacral therapy and reflexology treatments are popular with children from newborns onwards, and for mums and mums-to-be.

for your pregnancy and beyond

I am trained in reflexology for fertility and pregnancy, labour and post-natal care, so your treatment will be tailored throughout your evolving pregnancy, whether at the beginning or quite literally the final 'push'. Many people find maternity reflexology helpful to work indirectly through the feet to aid relaxation, support the pregnancy process and prepare for birth. Craniosacral therapy does this too, using a subtle, light touch over clothes to help relax the pelvic and abdominal regions and your baby - helping you to adapt to the changing shape and its demands of your body as you prepare for or recover from birth.

for husbands, partners and birthing partners

You are one of the lucky ones if you are getting a quality foot rub at home from your partner, while you bear the increasing weight of your bump! Some don't know what to do, lack confidence or realise how this can help. I can teach your partner two reflexology and massage sequences to support you in between treatments as your due date approaches, and - as reflexology can help with pain relief - for labour itself. Partners can often feel helpless, so appreciate being able to 'do' something for you, your pregnancy and baby, while you enjoy its benefits and some tlc.

for babies and children

Childbirth and the change of environment can be stressful and a big adjustment for your baby too. The principles, benefits and wellbeing that both therapies offer can also be enjoyed by babies soon after the birth process, whether caesarian, natural, forceps or ventouse delivery. I also have additional postgraduate training in craniosacral therapy for babies and children, including common ear, nose and throat problems such as glue ear, sinusitus and tonsilitis; and paediatric training as a trainee speech therapist, in speech, language and feeding difficulties. Beyond the early years, both craniosacral therapy and reflexology treatments can offer children some support through the natural trials of growing up.

For babies and children, treatments are available in the comfort of your own home, accompanied by yourself or another guardian. At the first appointment, we will also discuss your child's medical, lifestyle and birth history to tailor treatment to their needs. This takes place fully clothed (shoes and socks removed) somewhere where they are comfortable (like a sofa, in your arms, or your lap). A gentler touch is used than for adults.

what clients say

'Fiona came to my home to perform reflexology on me at 41 weeks pregnant. As well as being one of the most relaxing treatments I’ve ever had, I went into labour shortly after the treatment finished! Highly recommended!'

Chantalle, Streatham Mums' Network

'Fi has treated me throughout my pregnancy and I’ve always felt I’m in a very safe pair of hands. It was during a session when I first felt the baby move! I’ve no doubt reflexology has contributed to my happy and healthy pregnancy and I would definitely recommend it to others'.

Lysette, Camberwell

'The treatment was AMAZING, thank you so much. I actually felt like a valve had been released - such an amazing way to de-stress after an emotional and stressful few weeks!! I'll be recommending you to everyone Fiona!'

Amy, Earlsfield

'I have found Fiona's sessions particularly good to help me cope with stress, tiredness and low moods throughout my pregnancy'.

Valerie, Streatham Mums' Network

'I like it [reflexology] because it's very soft and smooth. It's nice and relaxing and makes me feel sleepy. It's like I'm going to bed but without a story.  I love it because it's peaceful and quiet and I get to go to sleep and I sleep better'.

Billy, age 6

'After exhausting all other ways of persuading my son to give up sucking his thumb Fi suggested I help break the link of him sucking his thumb to get to sleep by massaging and giving reflexology to his hands and feet at bedtime. Helping Zak to relax using the techniques that Fi taught me was really powerful, it became part of our bedtime routine he really enjoyed  and it worked every time -  after a month he was able to fall asleep without his thumb and without the massage. Zak still loves to have his feet massage but now it is usually during morning cuddles.'

Zak's mum, North London
